It's 2005 All Over Again for Sox

Sure, we Sox fans hang onto 2005 almost as much as Bears fans do 1985. And sure, Scotty Pods seems to be reborn in his second tour of duty on the South Side. So is GM Kenny Williams trying to round up the whole gang again?

On the same day that the Sox recalled Jose Contreras from the minors to pitch -- and damnit, if he didn't pitch like he did in 2005 -- they also signed Freddy Garcia to a minor league deal. The Venezuelan, who is married to Ozzie Guillen's cousin, was originally acquired by the Sox midway through the 2004 season. He was one of the Sox workhorses during their World Series run, going 14-8 with a 3.87 ERA, and won 17 the following season. Traded to the Philadelphia Phillies after the '06 season, he pitched sparingly the past two years as he's dealt with injuries. Is WIlliams hoping that, like Contreras and Bartolo Colon, Garcia is finally healthy enough to contribute? The team is sending him to Arizona to get back into pitching shape. Now we just want to know -- how long before we finally see Aaron Rowand in pinstripes again?
