Hamos Calls for Ethics Reform

18th District Illinois State Representitive Julie Hamos, is calling on state leaders, including Governor Pat Quinn, Speaker of the House Michael Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton, to enact $2,400 cap on individual campaign contributions.

Hamos said in a statement that "there are many proposals but if we want to end the cycle of corruption caused by big money donors and political patrons we must limit the amount of money they can contribute to candidates each election cycle." She's launched a petition on her website, asking Illinoisans to "support for passing campaign funding limits in Illinois," and is planning on delivering the petition to the governor and legislative leaders next Tuesday.
