The Friday Buffet

  • Saturday: A final reminder about Alice Waters's Green City Market appearance tomorrow. She'll be there selling and signing copies of her book Edible Schoolyard.
  • Tonight: Yoga and beer: two of our favorite things. Stellaria Natural Health (2519 N. California, 2nd floor) and Provenance Food & Wine are teaming up for an event combining a yoga lesson and a tasting of organic beers, from 7-9 p.m. $30 per person.
  • Saturday: Sippin' Saturdays at Randolph Wine Cellars tasting room will focus on fortified European wines. This free event runs from 2-6 p.m.
  • Saturday: The local chapter of Minds Matter, a non-profit pairing low-income, high-achieving high school students with dedicated tutors, hosts its annual "Spring for the Students" event at Bentley Gold Coast (847 N. Rush St.) from 8-11 p.m. Cost is $90, and there's a free afterparty at Le Passage.
  • Sunday: The Local Tourist and Windy City Wine Guy have invited some of the city's best sommeliers to a blind tasting at Crimson Lounge (333 N. Dearborn). Attendees also get to play along for the opportunity to win a $50 gift certificate to Eno. The event runs from 7:30-9:30 p.m., cost is $30.99.
  • Monday: It's Beer vs. Wine at Marion Street Cheese Market to determine which makes the better pairing for cheese. Cost is $30, the event runs from 7-9 p.m.
  • Wednesday: Brasserie JO's Spring Beer Festival will feature selections from Two Brothers, Lagunitas, Metropolitan and others. $20, 6-8 p.m.
