2009_03_SFJAZZ_Collective.jpg The all-star septet SFJAZZ Collective will play a show a week from today at Northwestern University for a mere $16.

Since 2004, the non-profit SFJAZZ has been bringing some of the top jazz musicians together to tour and record. The repertoire changes every year, but it's always a mix of new compositions by Collective members and tunes by one jazz great. This year the group plays works by legendary pianist McCoy Tyner.

The Collective is chock full of modern jazz's biggest names, two of whom -- Dave Douglas and Joe Lovano -- are in their final season with the group. This concert's a steal - buy a ticket today before people catch on to this stunning deal.

Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, 50 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston, March 11 at 7:30 p.m., $16, $12 seniors and NU faculty/staff, $8 students
