It's gonna be a gorgeous weekend, folks, and if you fancy a bit of huffing and puffing with your Labor Day, be sure to register for the Nike + Human Race at Soldier Field Sunday.

It's a multi-city event designed to raise cash for a variety of organizations including the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the World Wildlife Fund. Runners all over the world - from Paris to New York to Istanbul - will lace up their kicks and beat the street for charity and the chance to see a runners-only performance by a major pop act. Kanye's eschewed his native town to headline the L.A., event, so our fair city's runners will be serenaded by our very own guyliner-ed homies in Fall Out Boy. The band's last lakefront performance, at the Charter One Pavilion more that a year ago, was an explosive affair complete with a 20 foot high drum riser, so we're curious to see what they pull out for the ostensibly diverse Nike crowd.

We asked you last time if you thought a Chicagoista or two should run the race, and we accepted your challenge. Check back next week to find out who's in shape, who's a couch potato, and who has a closeted fascination with "emo bangs" (hint: It's totally Marcus).

The Nike Human + Race kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Soldier Field.
