Pig Out on Comedy

By Amy Mikel in Arts & Entertainment on Jun 11, 2008 10:20PM

oink1.jpgNot that there isn’t always sort some of comedy show happening here in town, but lately there has been sort of a surge, what with the Improv Comedy Festival just wrapping up and last weekend’s aptly (and hilariously) named Snubfest Comedy Festival – comedians snubbed from the Improv Fest lineup.

If you are still craving a dose of comedy, consider checking out The Playground Theater’s comedy variety improve show, O.I.N.K., featuring many local comedians and troupes. Although the show happens weekly on Wednesdays, a notable performance for this evening will be by up-and-coming local joker Nick Vatterott, who was recently featured in Time Out Chicago. The rest of the lineup includes:

  • Big Dog Eat Child (from Boozelegger's Ball)
  • Las Madres Del Football (the house improv team)
  • Chris & Roger (comedy duo)

3209 Halsted, The Playground Theater, $7 ($5 for students), Wednesdays, 10 p.m.
