Creepy and awesome? We'll take it. This weird hand art is both fascinating and totally disquieting. Hey, that soccer match one is cool, but this giraffe gets filed under "see you in my nightmares." [via]

We love baby animals, and we especially love 'em when we've never heard of their species before. This is the baby rock hyrax (click to enlarge, and here's one of baby and mama), the third generation born in the Brookfield Zoo. Rock hyraxes are native to East Africa and share a distant ancestor with elephants, according to the zoo's press release. [link]

These locally-made collapsible wood baskets are unusual and functional, plus it comes in a brontosaurus shape and is only $22. Thanks, heaven. [MnMTreasures]

Finally, Doc Films' spring quarter Monday-night series is hilarious. The "Impossible Adaptations" that'll be screened are Naked Lunch, Ulysses, Time Regained, Christabel, Home, Sweet Home, Mourning Becomes Electra, Under the Volcano, Quick Billy, Passages from Finnegan's Wake and Wisconsin Death Trip.
