Hired Truck Story Keeps Rolling

By Margaret Lyons in News on Feb 12, 2008 6:01PM

2008_2_12.laski.jpgConvicted criminal and ex-City Clerk Jim Laski, fresh off his incarceration, has published a book about taking the fall in the Hired Truck scandal--and he says Mayor Daley knows more than he's letting on. Wait, wait, wait, hold the presses: Mayor Daley is intimately involved with scandal and patronage, but he'll deny it? Noooo.

Laski told the Sun-Times,

"When I was trying to get a job for my oldest daughter, Victor Reyes told me, 'When it comes to family or something high-profile, you've got to see the mayor personally.' You go see the mayor on certain things, then he tells people he has a selective memory."

The book, My Fall From Grace, is a self-published tell-all about Laski, Daley, Reyes, Donald Tomczak, Robert Sorich, Bill Lipinski, and probably everyone else in that tangled web they weave. [S-T]
