Fire investigators said today that an accelerant was used in the deadly Oak Forest fire yesterday that killed three people and destroyed a 36-unit building. [Trib]

Rhoda Pritzker, philanthropist and matriarch of the Pritzker empire, died last at her home in Florida. She was 93. [UPI]

Police found the woman who left two of her three little kids on the CTA. Sharmaine Nicole Smith left her sons Isaiah, 6, and Angelo,4, on the Red Line on Thursday, and police had been looking for her ever since. She called 311 early this morning, and the operator apparently figured out who she was and called the police. [Trib, Sun-Times]
