One Real Time Travel Info Dream Comes True

ChicagoAirport2.jpgFor anyone flying out of O'Hare or Midway from now on, the City of Chicago is offering a new, ridiculously awesome service: real-time flight information updates straight to you.

Users who opt for the new service can have the information sent to their email, cell phones, Blackberries or lap-tops for free. To get the info, O'Hare fliers should email arrivals@ohare.com or departures@ohare.com and Midway fliers should email arrivals@midwayairport.org or departures@midwayairport.org. All you need to do is leave the subject line blank and provide one piece of information about your flight in the body of the email. Acceptable information would be the flight number, scheduled arrival or departure time, the airline's two-letter code, or the destination airport's three-letter code.

All of this up to date information is already available on the city's Department of Aviation website, of course. But even though this new service only works for flights leaving in the next four hours of whenever you send the email, it will certainly help us in determining when we need to leave our house for the long, arduous journey on the Orange or Blue Line so that we can make it on time for the long, arduous wait at the airport. In short, we think this new service seems pretty rad.
