Decent Days and Nights

Things are definitely winding down, and our cash is disappearing at an alarming rate. That’s why we’re not heartbroken that there aren’t too many shows this week to distract us from all that shopping we still have left to do.

2006_12_pelicancd.jpg A free show will help alleviate those wallet pains. Thursday night at the Metro check out GZA from Wu-Tang Clan for nothing but an R.S.V.P. to www.scion.com/livemetro. Fyre Department and DJ Klever round out the bill. Update: Reader M let us know that this "guest list" is now full, making the week even less decent than before.
Metro, Thurs. Dec. 21, 10:00 p.m., 21+, Free.

Is it just us or has Kill Hannah been playing non-stop in 2006? They must be working towards getting a new crop of warriors for their street team because these shows have been all ages, too. Next chance to sign up for the Kill Hannah Army? It’s Friday night at the Metro.
Metro, Fri. Dec. 22, 6:00 p.m., All Ages, $19 adv/$21 day of.

Pelican will be taking a break from the studio for a pair of shows this weekend. Subterranean or Beat Kitchen? Lichens or Young Widows? Legal or under age? The answer to those three questions will let us know which show to attend.
Subterranean, Fri. Dec. 22, 9:30 p.m., 21+, $12.
Beat Kitchen, Sat. Dec. 23, 8:00 p.m., All Ages, $12.

The next time we see a Santa, we’re going to sit right on his lap and ask for some rock-n-roll shows to keep us busy when the nights are longer and colder. Oh yeah, and some unmarked bills.
