Robbers on High Street/Brighton, MA Giveaway

By Scott Smith in Arts & Entertainment on Nov 29, 2006 5:30PM

The holiday season has begun, which for most people means an entire month of bloating and spending. We can’t do anything about the former, but allow us to take some of the burden off your wallet by giving away a pair of tickets for the 2006_11_rohs.jpgRobbers on High Street/Brighton, MA show at Subterranean on December 4 at 9:30 p.m.

In an era when instant notoriety is afforded to those who get notice on the “right” blogs, we respect Robbers on High Street for not allowing the buzz to do the work that new material should. The band recently dropped a download-only EP (The Fatalist and Friends) in advance of their full-length, which should hit the streets early next year.

Brighton, MA is the current musical expression of former Scotland Yard Gospel Choir founder Matt Kerstein, who formed the band with some former SYGC members and associates. It’s a Dylan-meets-Robert-Smith sound with a smattering of British folk-pop overtones that we find ourselves enjoying more than anything Kerstein’s done before.

Fill out the form below for your chance to win. Only one entry per person, and the winner will be notified Friday morning. Losers will have to plunk down $10 at the door on Monday night.
