Camp of Dreams is a Chicago program that helps bring free educational programs to young people who would otherwise go without. Students participate in a 3-week sleepover camp in the summer and in Community Days 2 Saturdays a month during the school year. Activities include things of an academic nature, visual and performing arts, mind and body, and civic engagement. And in all of the activities, the students learn about accountability and about living up to commitments to themselves, their fellow participants, and their broader community.

Sounds like a great program, right? It is! And here's a way you can participate and learn more: On Saturday, August 19, Camp of Dreams is having an event to share what was accomplished at summer camp this year. Campers will share their final performance pieces from step, poetry, music, and much more. So as not to interfere with your Saturday night plans, the event runs from 2:30p - 5:30p and is only $3 if you RSVP by August 15 and $5 the day of. All proceeds benefit school year and summer programming for Camp of Dreams.

If interested, RSVP before August 15 by calling 312.649.5551 or emailling lori@campofdreams.org. The event is held at the Camp of Dreams Office at the Menomonee Club at 1535 N. Dayton Ave. Parking is available or, even better, the Red Line North/Clybourn stop is only a block and a half away.
