QuickDrop Makes Selling on EBay Easy

QuickDrop - Photo: eBayIf you're like Chicagoist you've bought things on eBay (yay, bendy Scooby Doo figurine!) but have never sold anything. For some reason it's just seemed to complicated for us with the creating an account, figuring out how to get paid, taking photos, and shipping things out to the winning bidder. . . but now QuickDrop is coming to Chicago and to our rescue.

QuickDrop is an eBay drop-off store. All you do is bring the item you want to sell (valued at $50 or more) to a QuickDrop location and they will photograph it, place it on eBay, sell it, handle the payment, and ship the merchandise to the winning bidder. Then you get a check in the mail.

QuickDrop is opening 16 stores in Lake & Cook Counties starting with one in Hickory Hills in October. The only downside we see is the commision they snag from your sale. But then again.. Chicagoist is lazy.. real lazy... and QuickDrop's 20-38% commission sounds like something we'd be willing to pay if it meant finally getting our dusty CD collection out of the closet. Then we could buy more clothes!
