Let The Games Begin

Chicago Tribune Obama-Keyes.jpgThe race for U.S. Senate got rolling this weekend with two parades, some words traded, and commercials starting to air.

While Alan Keyes may behind in the polls, he certainly is a feisty guy, showing up at Saturday's Annual Bud Billikin Parade in Bronzeville and drawing curiosity-seekers as much as boos. The next day, Keyes and Obama crossed paths at Little Bombay's Independence Day Parade and traded a few words. From the Chicago Tribune:

After telling Obama he looked forward to a vigorous campaign, Keyes chastised the Hyde Park state senator for backing away from a six-debate pledge he made when Jack Ryan was the GOP nominee.

"I guarantee we're going to debate," Obama said. "Because you've been talking a lot. You've been talking a lot."

"I have the very bad habit of telling the truth," Keyes said.

Snap! And then...

As the two parted, a number of spectators followed Obama, chanting: "Tell your daddy, tell your mama! O-Ba-Ma! O-Ba-Ma!"

This is going to be fun!
