The Amber Alert issued earlier this week for two missing brothers from LeRoy remains in effect as authorities continue the search for the boys and their father, Michael Connolly. It's alleged the boys' father has abducted them after failing to return them to their mother following a weekend visitation and that he may have taken them to Hoffman Estates. A federal warrant for kidnapping was issued for Connolly on Monday, as well. The latest report also calls Connolly "possibly suicidal" which only raises the urgency for finding them. [CBS 2]
The Northwest Side woman who had allegedly kidnapped a three-year-old girl from a CVS pharmacy in the Avondale neighborhood last month has been formally charged. Forty-four year old Jeanette Roldan is scheduled for arraignment on December 29 at the Cook County Criminal Court for aggravated kidnapping. One month ago today, three-year-old Sana Patel walked out of the CVS at 3311 N. Pulaski at about 2:30 p.m. with Roldan, who had been talking with the child as evidenced by security camera tapes for that date. On a police tip, the girl was found at about 9:20 p.m. that evening in an alley near Kostner and Wellington. Luckily, little Sana Patel was found safe and unharmed. -- By Amy Wilschke
While most of the news swirls around the disappearance of Julian King, another child abduction appears to have taken place over the weekend. Toddler Nadin S. Ayesh has gone missing, the probable victim of a kidnapping by her own father, Said Ayesh. Nadin's mother alerted police when Said failed to bring Nadin to a pre-determined location in Orland Park following a court-order visit. According to the mother, Said had previously threatened to leave the country with Nadin and return to his native Jordan. Nadin's parents were never married and the custody battle commenced a year ago with a decision made in January. Said was last seen driving a silver silver-colored 2003 Saturn Ion (Dealer plate tag - 2056 DL).
It was a little over a week ago that we brought you the first report of a man dressed as a clown trying to lure kids into his vehicle in the Garfield Park area. And before we even had time to scrub that image from our brains, a new report from WBBM has new info on the King of the Creepers: Not only is the South Side not safe either, but he's using balloons, too. Oh good lord.
