Weekend Blotter: Two Dead, 24 Wounded In Weekend Violence

- Two men were killed and 24 people, including a 6-year-old boy, were wounded in gun violence over the weekend.
- Willie Clark, 32, was shot and killed as he stood with a group of people around 12:45 a.m. Saturday about a block away from police headquarters at 36th and Michigan Avenue.
- A 40-year-old man was shot and killed and another man was wounded when two gunmen approached a group of people and opened fire around 9:50 p.m. in the Gresham neighborhood.
- A homeless man was found dead in the street around 4:50 a.m. Saturday in the Ravenswood neighborhood. Police believe the man was a victim of a hit-and-run.
- A 6-year-old boy was shot and wounded in the shoulder while riding in a car with his mother around 11:30 p.m. Friday in the West Garfield Park neighborhood.
- Four people were wounded overnight Sunday.
- In Joliet, a man was shot and killed at a restaurant while eating breakfast with his family. Police arrested a suspect shortly after.
- A man and two teens have been charged with attempted murder in the shooting that wounded a 4-year-old girl.
