Pass the Bottle

2006_04_winecases.jpgChances are, if you're celebrating Passover today you aren't reading this. But Chicagoist received an e-mail the other day asking for advice on kosher wines, something we haven't given much thought toward, being a goyim and all.

From a matter of personal taste the only Manishevitz we like is the band. We've spoken to a lot of Jewish folk who can't stand the ripple, either. So, for you all we recommend checking out kosherwine.com. Kosher Wine is a division of Skokie-based Hungarian Kosher Foods and boasts the largest selection of kosher wines in the nation. If you've been procrastinating on that seder, can't choose between red or white, or don't know whether to buy a wine that's meshuval , they can help. And you can buy some extra matzo if you're running low.

Although it's too late for internet orders, the store - at 4020 W. Oakton in Skokie - is open until 8 p.m. this evening. The phone number is (847) 674-8008.
